Pentadeca arginate dosage: what studies actually used

The short answer

We found no published study that tested any dose of pentadeca arginate in people, and no registered trial that names it12. Its only dose data are animal experiments and untested proposals in a 2017 patent3. One community page says its figures are borrowed from BPC-157, whose human studies did not name the salt form they used45.

Not dosing advice. This page reports doses that studies and approved labels used, with their sources. It does not recommend a dose, and we do not give mixing, injection or unit-conversion instructions. Gray-market vials often do not contain what their label says. How we report doses.

Studies, animals and users: kept apart

Doses below are what studies used or what a label says. They are not advice, and gray-market products may not contain what their label says.

In human studies

PubMed lists no human study of pentadeca arginate, and ClinicalTrials.gov lists no trial that names it12. A trial of tablets holding 1 mg of BPC-157 each, in healthy volunteers, was registered in 2015, but its record does not say which form of BPC-157 the tablets held, and no results have been posted56.

In animal studies

The patent says all its pharmacology experiments, in cells and animals, used the L-arginine salt3. Describing rat experiments on surgical adhesions, which it introduces with ‘Our previous research demonstrated’ and which follow methods published from 2007 to 2010, it says the peptide was used in its ‘regular low doses’ of 10 ng to 10 µg per kg of body weight, given by injection, by mouth or locally3. In an antiviral test in newborn mice, it says ‘Bepecin L-arginine salt was applied in doses of 10 µg/kg and 100 µg/kg’3. In an acute toxicity test, it says rats given 1 g/kg into the abdominal cavity, a vein or the stomach showed ‘no toxicity and no adverse effects’, and it gives no further details of that test3. These are animal research doses, not human doses.

What users report Anecdotal · not validated · not a recommendation

One community reference page lists about 250 to 500 µg per dose, once or twice a day, and says these figures are borrowed from BPC-1574.

Half-life and how it is taken

Routes
  • Injection under the skin (offered by clinics, pharmacies and telehealth sellers; no human data found)
  • Injection into muscle (offered by some sellers; rat experiments in the patent; no human data found)
  • Oral capsules or liquid (offered by some sellers; lab and rat experiments in the patent; no human data found)
  • Injection into the abdominal cavity (animal experiments in the patent only)
  • Creams, gels, eye or nose drops, suppositories, enemas and skin patches (forms proposed in the patent; no human data found)

Do BPC-157 doses apply to pentadeca arginate?

Not directly. FDA treats the free base and the acetate salt of BPC-157 as different ingredients, and told its advisers that salts of one molecule can differ in formula, molecular weight, stability, toxicity and how the body handles them57.

The five published human studies of BPC-157 did not identify which form they used, and they gave it as enemas, injections into the knee or bladder wall and IV infusions5. None of the five gave it by mouth or by injection under the skin or into muscle, the ways pentadeca arginate is sold58. Their doses are listed on the BPC-157 dose page.

What doses does the 2017 patent propose?

The patent, which reports no tests in people, predicts that ‘A common dose in tablets, lozenges or capsules will range from 0.1 to at most 5 mg’, and adds that ‘Determination of optimal dose is subject to assessment and experience’3. We found no published study that tested these doses in people12.

What do sellers and clinics say about dosing?

Seller and clinic pages say no tested human dose exists: a telehealth seller writes that ‘There is no published, standardized human daily dose for pentadeca arginate’, and a sports-medicine clinic’s library page says there is ‘no established dosing’910. The same clinic page describes a ‘Phase I Clinical Development’ program with a ‘Safety and pharmacokinetic evaluation ongoing’, but names no trial, and ClinicalTrials.gov lists none that names PDA210.

Questions people ask

How much pentadeca arginate should I take?

No dose of pentadeca arginate is established: we found no published study of it in people, so none shows what amount, if any, works or is safe12. Its 2017 patent proposes doses for tablets, lozenges and capsules but reports no tests of them in people3. Pentadeca arginate is not an approved drug, and by our reading US pharmacies may not compound it111213.

Is PDA dosed the same as BPC-157?

We found no study comparing them, and FDA says different salts of one molecule can have very different properties and toxicities17. A community reference page says the figures people use for PDA are borrowed from BPC-1574, whose own published human studies did not name the salt form and used other routes5.

Can you take pentadeca arginate orally?

It is sold as capsules and liquid to take by mouth, but we found no published study measuring how much of it reaches the blood, and FDA found no such data for BPC-157 taken by mouth either1358. In the patent’s lab tests the arginine salt lasted longer than the acetate in artificial gastric juice, yet at pH 2.0 only 4.9% remained after 2.5 hours3.
