PEG-MGF dosage: what studies actually used

The short answer

We found no study that gave PEG-MGF to people or animals, so we know of no studied dose of it by any route, and FDA has identified no human exposure data123. The figures below come from animal studies of MGF peptides without PEG, a different molecule, and from a dosing website and forum reports that no trial we found supports4567.

In human studies

None. We found no study that gave PEG-MGF, or any MGF peptide, to people56, and FDA found no human exposure data for PEG-MGF by any route3. A 2026 medical review found no peer-reviewed clinical study reporting a human dosing regimen4.

In animal studies

None for PEG-MGF: we found no animal study of it12. Studies of MGF peptides without PEG, as reported in the papers: mice with bruised calf muscles and macrophages (a type of immune cell) removed got 5 µg in 20 µl injected into each injured muscle right after the injury and 1 and 2 days later8. Mice after a heart attack got a stabilized MGF peptide at 4.5 mg/kg a day for 2 weeks from a pump implanted under the skin910. Rabbits with a 5-mm gap in the radius, a front-leg bone, got 28.5 or 57 µg/kg of body weight by injection for five days after surgery, and the abstract reports better healing with the higher dose11. These are animal doses of MGF peptides without PEG, a different molecule. They are not human doses, and we do not convert them.

What users report Anecdotal · not validated · not a recommendation

A dosing-protocol website (updated 20 September 2026) lists 200 to 500 µg injected under the skin once a day, and says ‘No clinical trials of PEG MGF have been completed’7. Bodybuilding-forum reports compiled by a 2026 medical review give 200 to 400 µg under the skin or into muscle, 2 or 3 times a week or daily4.

Half-life and how it is taken

Half-life
No measurement found in people or animals4A 2026 medical review reports no half-life for PEG-MGF (‘t½ not reported’)4. Sellers’ claims conflict: one says PEG extends the half-life ‘from minutes to hours’, another says PEG gives it ‘a half-life of several days’1213. We found no study that measured either. Anti-doping scientists found that an MGF variant without PEG, R23H, ‘has good stability’ in blood plasma in a test tube, without giving a half-life14.

Why MGF doses do not carry over to PEG-MGF

A 2026 medical review warns that attaching PEG ‘fundamentally alters pharmacokinetics and tissue exposure’, meaning how much of a drug reaches the blood and tissues and for how long, so that effects seen with natural MGF or its E-domain peptide ‘cannot be assumed to apply’ to PEG-bound versions4. None of the animal doses on this page was given with PEG attached89101115.

The animal studies did not use one consistent peptide either. Two mouse heart studies infused a stabilized version, with its end capped and two arginines switched to their mirror-image forms910. A third released the unstabilized peptide from tiny gel rods injected into the heart, and in that study the same dose of peptide injected without the rods showed no significant improvement15.

Where the doses quoted online come from

The dosing website’s reference list cites a seller’s product page and studies of MGF without PEG, among them the rabbit bone and mouse muscle studies listed under animal studies7. The website says its suggested daily schedule is ‘based on preclinical research protocols’, citing the rabbit bone study, which gave 28.5 or 57 µg/kg for five days, and a news item from the Cureus website711. None of the studies it cites tested PEG-MGF itself127. One manufacturer’s page gives absorption figures ‘in healthy male and female adults’ without naming any study, although FDA has identified no human exposure data for PEG-MGF at all316.

Why a vial’s label is not a dose

Finnrick, an independent testing service, had published no test of PEG-MGF as of 8 October 2026, and we found no other independent test, so the amount printed on a vial is unverified17. One seller gives only an approximate molecular weight for peptide and PEG together and does not say how large the PEG chain is, so a vial’s milligram figure does not show how much of it is the peptide itself12. Anti-doping laboratories have found altered MGF peptides in black-market and seized products141819.

Questions people ask

How much PEG-MGF should I take?

No dose of PEG-MGF is established: we found no study of it in people or animals, and FDA has identified no human exposure data123. Animal studies used MGF peptides without PEG, a different molecule, so their doses do not carry over4. PEG-MGF is not an approved drug, and US pharmacies may not compound it3202122.

Can you take PEG-MGF every day?

FDA found no data on people exposed to PEG-MGF, daily or otherwise, so whether everyday use is safe is unknown3. The daily and weekly figures found online come from a dosing website and bodybuilding forums, not from trials47. In the studies we found, repeated daily doses were given only to animals, and only as MGF without PEG, such as five days of injections in rabbits and a 2-week pump infusion in mice126911.

Is MGF dosing the same as PEG-MGF dosing?

No. Animal doses of MGF were for peptides without PEG, given by pump, injection or gel rods, and a 2026 review warns that results with those peptides cannot be assumed to apply to PEG-bound versions48915. We found no study that tested any dose of PEG-MGF itself12.
